Most regular sized mouse pads are too large to fit on my pull-out keyboard drawer, without overlapping the keyboard on part of the mousepad. This little (170mm x 225mm) pad fits perfect when I turn it sideways. I like that it's thin, although it does move very slightly when using the mouse. Due to the soft microfiber, it has a bit more friction than a hard mousepad, but I think it feels great with my lightweight optical mouse. And it's nice for cleaning my LCD monitor too.

Once you get this anti-glare screen onto your computer screen, it works all right. But getting it on correctly is the tricky part. You have to be really, really, super careful when opening the packaging in order not to bend the anti-glare screen, I wasn't able to do that and the screen got bent and puckered and once installed those bends and puckers wouldn't lie flat on my computer screen leaving unsightly and distracting bumps.

So, if you buy this product, please use utmost care in separating it from it's packaging.

It's a good screen protector but I truly doubt there is a way to apply the film without getting any dust stuck between the film and the laptop display. Once a piece of dust gets on the film it is almost impossible (if not impossible) to get it off. It is true what the other reviewer said that most of the time you don't notice the air bubbles. They are slightly noticeable though. It does help with glare and for that reason I am glad I bought it, so even with the bubbles I recommend it.

"Would NOT recommend" 2009-12-14

I got this as a gift (I had asked for a screen protector because I figured it would be a good idea to protect the screen on my tablet PC since it gets handled so much.). Too lazy to cut it to size (I have a 14.1" 15:9 screen) and put it on, it sat in my room for a year or two until I finally decided to try it.

Cutting it worked out fine (I used a ruler and craft knife on a cutting board, carefully), but after that the problems started. The instructions are very unclear and confusing, but I was eventually able to figure out what to do. The packets of cleaning solution were dried up, which I had thought might be due to the length of time it sat in my room, but I see others have had the same problem. I wiped the screen down, using a little water in place of the solution, and found that the included cloths leave tiny fibers behind, so I had to work more to get rid of those.

After I finally got my screen clean, I set out to apply the film. I had it most of the way on when I noticed a tiny spec of dust or something had created a bubble. I peeled the film back and removed the spec, but as I did so, more and more tiny debris accumulated on the underside of the film due to the static cling, and it proved to be impossible to keep clean.

With a screen littered on one side with unsightly bubbles (you can scrape the bubbles out only if there's nothing solid in them), I peeled the film off and threw it out. $20 and all this effort for two months of bubbly protection? No thanks.

This item has been on my laptop for a year now, and it is still perfect.

It made the screen stop reflecting light from behind me, and a monkey could put it on.

Easy to clean, but you would have to be eating hot-wings and touch the screen with your greasy

fingers to put a smudge on it. (Ask my son how I know that) lol

Wipe it off with some Windex or screen anti-static cleaner and its good until something stupid happens again.

It has not bubbled, scratched, or become difficult to read through like protectors I have used in the past.

This is a disgrace. It's a single piece of thin transparent material that has to be cut to fit and could not have cost even 3 cents. It is very hard to install and leaves bubbles all over the screen no matter how hard you try to smooth them out. It is about as useful as placing Sara wrap over the screen display. It comes with a few ineffective small packets of cleaner fluid and a bubble scraper/press that is small, flimsy and essentially useless. It has no design -- it's something one can probably but at a Staples store in units of a dozen for $5 -- it in no way is a "skin,"

This is consumer fraud.

Not only is this way over-priced for the merchandise, it is impossible to install without getting impossible-to-remove air bubbles causes by the dust specs that are attracted to the screen protector as you try to install. I tried for an hour, gave up, ripped it off, and threw it away. Don't get burned!

I will admit, I purchased this camera just becuase of the commercial (and I love Nikon's!) and the picture quality is AMAZING! I had a bit of trouble at first getting all the settings right, but once I learned how the camera behaved, I have been happy ever since! Many of the negative reviews are because of picture quality and I can't say how strongly I disagree with that. The 12.1 plus the features of the Nikon make for a superb picture! The one downfall that I can't get over, but is easy to accommodate is that I cannot turn the camera around and take a picture of my husband and I without hitting a setting on the screen. It isn't comfortable to work this way, but that isn't what it was made for!

When I saw the camera in action, I really wanted to like it. I liked all the features it had to offer, but every feature did not work properly. This camera is inherently flawed. For every pro there is a con. I did not want to believe the negative reviews on amazon, but I wish I had. I ultimately had to return it because it just simply does not work as advertised.

Pro (with it's con)

- big OLED touchscreen. ( that's awesome, but the resolution is so poor, it really is an eyesore to look at. Colors look nice, but they do not truly represent the photo when transferred to a computer)

- touch controls, virtually no buttons except the shutter. Controls include iPhone like pinch to zoom and swiping through picture functionality. (this feature would be nice had they either put better hardware in the camera or made the firmware more efficient. The controls are so slow and unresponsive, it will make you downright mad. Touch focus is horrific and never works as it is supposed to. Also, no dedicated power button means you must open the lens up to turn it on, even to review pictures. Come on, that's ridiculous.)

-high resolution sensor capable of taking HD 720p video. (I should live with the afformemtioned flaws above, but it must do it's primary function well, taking a nice clear picture. This camera does not. The pictures look simply bad. My 5 year old Sanyo Xacti digicam takes superior pictures to this camera. This is not an exaggeration. Pictures are not properly set up by the camera, and are often taken incorrectly. Previewing the pictures on the camera show rich vibrant color, but transferring them to a computer show them to be dull, with improper color representation. Video is no better. It looks to be captured via motion jpeg format. Framerates are bad, colors look as dull and misrepresented as in stills. Also, no optical zoom while shooting video. Just everything wrong going on here.)

A few nice things that I really can't complain about is the build quality is superb. Also, the all interenal optics is great so if you are storing it in a purse or pocket, the lens will not protrude accidentally causing harm to the camera. This cannot make up for the fact that a) it's primary function, taking pictures is severly flawed, and b) Its main selling point, the huge multitouch OLED display looks horrific and does not Function properly.

I honestly cannot recommend this item, and would recommend a comparable camera from another manufacturer.

In April I purchased a Nikon S70 camera in preparation for a two-week trip to South Korea and Japan. Not wanting to lug along a large format camera, I thought the Nikon S70 would be the perfect size. Besides, what better brand to purchase than a Nikon? Unfortunately, it proved to be an exceptionally poor camera. Had I read the reviews posted on amazon.com prior to purchasing the camera, I would have chosen something else. Being a somewhat experienced photographer, I thought I could make good use of the Nikon S70, despite the negative reviews. Of the 1000+ photos I took, more than 75% were fuzzy, out of focus, poorly lighted, or had to be deleted. It was a once-in-a-lifetime trip and I'd hoped to come home with some good photographic memories. Needless to say, I was greatly disappointed. I've returned the camera to amazon.com. While the size of the camera was what I was expecting, the sensitivity of the touch screen and certain other features force you handle the camera with great care to prevent changing various settings or accidentally taking an unwanted photo. The lack of sharp focus was the worst issue with the camera. It seemed confused under certain lighting conditions. Apparently Nikon has discontinued this particular model, which is a good decision. Nikon's larger and more expensive cameras are among the best on the market, but this little device is a total disaster. Do not purchase one under any circumstances.

I had frequent flier miles that were about to expire so I had to either fly or buy from one of their affiliates. I got this camera as my older Nikon had some problems due to wear and tear. I had expected high resolution pictures from the S70. What I got was extremely poor quality pictures only bigger.Reviews had mentioned this but the professional reviews rated the camera fairly favorably. I assume that the professionals only tested the camera in the lab. Picture quality at best is pretty bad. At worst, the picture is so blurry as to be impossible to tell what the subject was. A courtroom sketch would have come out better. I realize that some of this had to do with the settings and the fact that it was difficult to remember to change the settings for each shot.

Another problem had to do with the touch screen. It was almost impossible to take a picture without touching one of the icons on the screen. In some cases the picture taking process was reduced to listening to the camera constantly changing some button or other. Reviews had mentioned this but I just thought that people needed to be more careful. It's almost impossible to be careful with this camera. And you can just forget about asking someone to take a picture for you. Very bad design.

I fell with the camera protected in a case and it still broke. It appears that the CCD is mounted on silicon to reduce vibration and that must have torn. Everything on the camera still works but the colors are misaligned yielding purpleish pictures with weird lines throughout. This after only about 300 pictures on the camera. The really sad part is that I wish it had broken earlier so I wouldn't have missed some many one-chance-in-a-lifetime pictures.

Do yourself a favor and find another camera, even another Nikon.

Pros: 1. The touch screen is better than expected. Especially after reading some of the bad reviews on Amazon, my expectation was a touch screen that works. But, when I received it, I was positively surprised by its touch screen. Responding quickly and neat animation. 2. The device organizes songs by artists, genre, style and album automatically. This is a very nice feature.

Cons: 1. The home screen is ugly. They should do more work on that. 2. The user manual is ugly. But, I did not need it since it is pretty intuitive. 3. The USB cable is not good. The speed is low and it is physically short.

Do you like Never Ending Disk Activity?

Do you like Slower then Slow where you are waiting 5 to 10 minutes to come back from sleep?

Do you like to have a laptop that eats up 100-200GB of space for nothing?

If the answer is yes then this is the laptop for you...

Nothing beats this laptop in terms of the fact out of the box day 1 i ran out of room without installing anyting or connecting to a network, couldnt come back from hybernation.

Lets not forget you dont get the ability to blow out the OS and install a fresh copy without all the crapware that lenovo sends with the laptop.

That verifiace software super sucks it really slows down your performance never fully shuts off.

btw, I got the 4gb memory figuring it said x64bit but it wasnt a 64bit cpu. I also got the 250gb hdd and guess what lenovo software sucks so bad it filled up in a matter of a few hours.

Customer Service? Rude as hell!

This computer was a total disaster. It was in for repairs 3 different times within the first 6 months. Motherboard kept crashing. HP finally gave me a newer IQ527 in it's place. It was such a hassle and I think the repair center had posession of it more than my daughter did the first year but at least they gave me a new one. I know your not supposed to say never....but I will never buy another HP computer again. My old emachine finally died and I went Mac for myself!

I own the IQ 816 with blu-ray. The same as this system otherwise. Upgraded to Windows 7 Professional. I was required to reformat the drive. HP was unwilling to provide a replacement copy of Touchsmart or DVD Corel which is the blu-ray driver and more. I was told by HP tech that this computer was designed for Vista and not Windows 7. I could restore Vista or do without this software and Windows 7. You might be able to upgrade to Windows 7 Home edition. I wanted the ability to run XP software regardless of this computers potential loss of touchscreen abilities in XP mode. So if you need to reformat your hard drive to get to Windows 7 don't expect much assistance from HP or replacement software. This is a Vista PC and only a Vista PC regardless. It still is better than the IQ 775 which is the same as a PC jr, junk.

I bought this computer two weeks ago from [...], and I got it for a great price. Let me preface, I am a HUGE fan of the iMac and love all of Apple's products, but this computer folks is REALLY a good value. I got mine for $750 with Windows 7, and it is super easy to set up, very accesible, well designed, and runs really quick. The touch screen is not gimmicky because it works quite well! The slimline keyboard that it comes with is very nice, even the mouse is sturdy. The webcam function is SO much fun and my girlfriend and I enjoy talking to her family in Poland on it via Skype. It has some really fun things to do on it :) We love pictures and taking videos of our kids and such, and this computer makes everything so easy and fun, we went and got her the HP DV7 laptop to go with it! HP is back on top!!

I bought this laptop a few months ago, not from here. but somewhere else. the laptop itself is great. there's only two ways to unlock this. one is by password, the other finger prints. which you can scan up to 10 on one user. it's small, lightweight, and portable. the touch screen with out the stylus is somewhat touch sensative, meaning you have to either tap, or press. with the stylus hardly tap it or touch it. it has lightscribe which i haven't used yet, and a dvd remote for windows media center. overall i recommend it.

I've had this laptop for a little less than a year, and I'm already buying a new one. I had the power supply fail and several keyboard keys that work intermittently. The touch pad has always been flaky and the mouse cursor tends to randomly jump around the screen.

If you uninstall everything on this machine, every last bit of software, including the OS, then install a decent OS and the software you actually want, it will run fine.

If you buy it as configured from HP, it simply will not work for very long.

I got this as a gift, and it ran for three months before Vista crashed permanently, so badly that it could not be recovered and I had to install all new OS & software from scratch. The hardware is very fast, but the 90+ background processes that HP installs to make it all touchsmart-y make it run like a TRS80.

Worse, the media software they install is like some sort of virus magnet. Despite three very well-respected security programs, I spend at least one day a week just letting the virus programs update and scan, and they always find a ton of malware. It always comes through the media software too.

If you're just looking for a piece of hardware that will work decently well and you plan to spend a couple days customizing your OS and software, then this will be fine for that purpose. If you want it to actually work out of the box...not so much.

Really bad product. The touchscreen and the fingerperint reader keep malfunctioning as "usb not recognized". Also occasionally it starts clicking all by itself and changing stuff.

Don't touch it with a 10 foot pole.

Also support from HP is non-existent, lots of bloatware etc. It's supposed to find its own drivers upgrades, but in 6 months found nothing.

Battery also crapped out in 2 1/2 months.

Only good thing: it was cheap.

This is a very nice laptop.

The battery life isnt the best, but that's because it's a powerful laptop.

I was debating on getting this or the Eee PC T91 Touchscreen that my roommate got. I am glad I made this choice. His screen is too small, only has 16GB ssd, and touchscreen isnt as nice. On the other hand, his battery life is longer, and his laptop has no moving parts (no hdd or fan). This also has a much better cpu (I would have preferred Intel, but AMD is good too), and a lot more RAM. Mine is better.

I really like the fingerprint scanner. My last laptop had one, but the location on this one is better. Everything works great in Windows 7 RC. Waiting for my upgrade from Vista to 7 rmt, but I know everything will work fine.

I also bought the 3yr warranty plan from squaretrade. I would definitely recommend getting that as well if you buy this laptop, or any laptop. You cant beat 3 yrs for $100, especially with a touchscreen that could mess up on you. Dont take a $900 chance, and feel secure.

"The Fastest Mini And UMPC Of All!" 2010-05-09

Hello,

I bought my Sony Vaio UX380N back in the beginning of 2008, and I haven't regretted it one bit. Even now, after having it and using it all this time, i still keep finding newer and more exciting ways to use my UX380N. Sony had a real winner on their hands with this model, but they were quite outrageous on the prices of them. If they would have lowered their prices to a more reasonable amount, and maybe have upgraded the RAM to 2Gb instead of just giving up on the UX model idea, they would and could have probably sold them like hot cakes. Everyone that I have talked to and showed my UX380N to really loved it, and they really were interested in purchasing one. But the Sony price of them, along with Sony's decision to discontinue the model rather than make a few upgrades to it and lower the price of it, drove them away from buying one. Sony could have made a killing profit with this model, but their poor business and tech practices, once again, put a damper on their sales.

Personally, I don't know or understand why Sony thinks so much of their cumputers that they raise their prices wayyyy above everyone else that builds computers with the same or better quality, and sells them cheaper, but Sony needs to come down to reality and notice and see that their brand name doesn't have the quality or known-ness as it once had. Sony just needs to come down to reality period. Until then, not too may people will pay their outrageous prices for things that they can just go to other manufacturers and get the same quality mwith a much more reasonable price tag. But still, that doesn't take away the wonderful computer that the UX380N is. If you can find a UX model UMPC at a reasonable price (Maybe @ $799 or less), then I highly recommend that you buy it. There aren't too many iPod classic leather cases with belt clips to choose from, but this one seems to do well enough. It has a plastic cover that protects the screen all the way to the control dial; the problem with that is the plastic prevents you from actually controlling the track wheel. I just cut the bottom portion of the plastic so that the control wheel is exposed; easy fix. I'll be keeping my eyes open for another case, though.

"Good Tablet, Needs Improvement" 2010-01-30

After using the Dell XT2 for six months, I rate it 4 stars due to its great looks, good speed, and the touch screen is totally awesome and very impressive. There are many pluses to this tablet PC, including its tough shell, bright screen (even outside!), and its Dell quality. Battery life is good, not great, I can get about 4-6 hours with the 'slice' battery, which is not quite long enough for a day at the client's office. I also own the Fujitsu 4220, which I rate 5 stars, but it does not have as professional a look and is a bit heavier than the Dell XT2. Here are some simple things Dell should do to make the XT2 5 star:

1. Get rid of the Dell Control Point software (which controls wifi, aircards, all access). I had to have IT disable it because it fought with my Verizon air card service. It still pops up every couple days with an annoying error message. When I first got the Dell, it was with IT for many, many hours with N-Trig applet errors, wifi errors, and others that linked back to the Control Point. That was disappointing.

2. Change the stylus - it is brittle, it costs $ 20, and I have broken two of them in six months from simple 2-3 foot soft drops on the floor. I have dropped my fujitsu stylus much more often and beaten it up for 3 years and it is unphased. I dropped my Dell stylus today and was very surprised that it it did not snap in two, and still worked. My first stylus broke internally when it sprung out of its slot (there is a spring in there) and hit the floor of the MARTA train - not exactly the hardest surface one might encounter. It looked fine but the electronics were shot. My second one dropped from a table to a wood floor, again not a hard surface, and snapped in two (still worked with tape but obscured the erase and function buttons).

3. GET RID OF THE BLACK KEYS. With a tablet, you move from keyboard to screen constantly, and the keys cannot be seen in low light. If you use a tablet, you are going to be working in dark areas from time to time. Fujitsu keys are white and I can see them well with the screen lighting and no room light.

If I was going to buy a new tablet today, I probably would get another Fujitsu for these 3 reasons plus my Fujitsu has withstood the severe beating I have given it. If Dell fixed these three items, it'd be a tough decision because the Dell is a real eye-catcher and with the touch screen I get a lot of questions and interest when I have it around town and clients offices.

Clinical Providers to carry around and see patients with. These are the worst Tablets\Laptops we have ever had.

the Dell tech is in our building so often we are going to get him his own desk.

The Motherboards and tablet Pens Fail repeatedly and the Medical Staff Hate these tablets. Buy Another product

you will be glad you did. ALSO the E6500 Laptop is no better - another Dell Miss racked with major issues.

We are looking into going with HP in the near future.

I seriously doubt that the first reviewer actually has a Latitude XT2. The XT2 has only been available for a couple of months and I seriously doubt that a college IT dept would issue new laptops during the middle of the school year. He most likely has the original Latitude XT which did experience some of the issues that he described when using some of the earlier drivers.

I am very pleased with my Latitude XT2 and not had a single issue with it and it. It is a very reliable computer and is a joy to use. I have not had any of the screen issues that was mentioned nor has any of the original components needed to be replaced. I highly recommend the Latitude XT2.

"A warning to consumers" 2009-05-09

The title of the review should be great insight to what is to follow here. This computer is by far the worst laptop PC that I have ever dealt with. We can't just blame everything on the windows vista OS (although it's extremely buggy) because that would be unfair. Touch screen malfunctions (to the point where you just have to turn it off for the computer to function), I've gone through multiple hard drives (3 to be exact), the touch mouse pad mysteriously stopped working and had to be replaced, and it freezes and crashes on a daily basis (maybe a windows problem but just adding it in there).

The die-hard dell fan might say "oh, it's just one bad apple and you can't blame the whole bunch." These laptops were given to everyone in my med school class paid through our tuition, and I'm sorry to say that my story with this laptop is NOT a unique one. Our computer support center on campus is flooded with these laptops daily. So maybe Dell just sent my school and I 290 bad apples? I think not.

For the price that you pay for this you could get a much nicer laptop and one that is more reliable. I strongly urge you if you're reading this to avoid this Dell product at all costs. A price tag of close to $3,000 is quite a chunk of change to pay for shoddy craftsmanship.

I have tried several LCD protectors for my cameras and all work, but most of them are bulky and annoying.

I ordered these because of the reviews on the Net and the low cost. Low down-side risk.

I like the fact that you get two protectors in each order. This allowed me to order 1 for my Nikon D700 and use the enclosed second for my D300. Two for the price of one. Also, no adhesive required for installation.

There is one very minor downside if you are an OCD-type person: Unless you live in a completely dust-free environment,I don't think it's possible not to get any dust on the film before you place it on the LCD. The film is static charged...you can take it from there. Little air pockets will show where the dust is. This is strictly cosmetic and does not affect the functional aspects of the product.

Bottom line: I'd buy them again.

"A pretty good laptop overall, unless you need accurate color." 2010-04-20

The LED backlit display that I thought would produce better colors thinking that LED backlit was all the hype in LED LCD HDTVs like Samsung, Sony, etc. produces a slightly purplish color cast to the image. I thought getting the LED backlit display at such a low cost was a great deal, but I guess you really get what you pay for. In this price range, I'm almost thinking a traditional CCFL backlit LCD would have looked more accurate in terms of colors. If you're using this for photography, I would stay away. If you're using it for web surfing or word processing, it won't matter. For my desktop I have a color calibrating Samsung display, so right away I can notice the purplish color cast on the Lenovo. I did attempt to correct for the hue by running my color calibrator on it, which helped, but didn't completely fix it.

Overall this is a good machine with some feature issues.

Long Battery life

It is fast

Windows 7 runs great

Never had machine related issues

Battery never gets hot even after using for more than one hour like other laptops

But there is one annoying thing in this computer... Keyboard and Mouse pad.

Keyboard is very hard to type because I need to press exactly in the middle. If I press at corners, it does not register. and I make too many typing mistakes.

Mouse pad is not sensitive enough to make it a good experience. Most times, it does not register the tocch/drag.

But this machine is overall a good machine for the price I gave.

I find it strange that a couple of people (maybe the same person) complain about service for this notebook. I called and had a response within 2 minutes. I had a minor issue regarding the features on the notebook and was assisted and off the phone in ten minutes.

Perhaps if something serious goes wrong you may find it annoying. For example, we have an HP notebook and it took 3 technicians and a supervisor and over 3 hours of our time to get them to ship us a replacement battery for a brand new computer.

The margins are very thin on these machines, so don't expect them to come to your door. If you buy a $400-$500 computer you cannot expect them to provide you $400 worth of support time if you are inept in computing and not hardware savvy.

This notebook is an absolute steal for the money and very well made. My only complaint and it appears in HP as well is the notebooks run a tad hot. I have not had any problems as a result, but it may be a good idea to get a cooling pad for while you use it at home. If you are a road warrier, traveling coolers are available as well.

The notebook has excellent battery life, an astoundingly nice display and a well designed keyboard. All touchpad's stink, from the HP to Dell. So, get a notebook mouse.

My purchase from Lenovo left a bitter taste in my mouth. I purchased a Lenovo G550 in

November 2009. I was looking for a basic laptop for my daughter who only browses, chats and

does her homework on the computer. I did not really need all the multi-media and high end

graphics so touted by all computer sellers. My search narrowed to Dell and Lenovo. I

already had a Dell and it was working fine after 3 years. I did some research and talked to

some friends and some of them recommended Lenovo. My company provides Lenovo laptops for

its employees to use. I normally find that at least one of my team members have to go the

technical support to repair their laptops every week and I dont have a very large team. In

spite of all this adverse information regarding Lenovo quality, I still took the plunge and

ordered a G550. The deal was good at $449.

One of the first things that gave me a pause was that Lenovo advertised the laptop as

"Intel® Dual-Core Processor" leaving out the word "Pentium" (they have corrected this hence,

maybe due to feedback from customers). I thought in the beginning that it was a Intel Core

2 Duo processor and was delighted to get one at this price. Later after some more research

it turned out to a "Pentium' processor which is inferior to Core 2 Duo. Some blame should

also go to Intel for this similar naming, but other computer sellers include the word

"Pentium".

I ordered it and they shipped it (Customer Number: 4969111, Order: 2E1LJR). It took about

15 days to arrive which was normal as per the lead time published on their site. But, while

tracking the package, I found that the laptop was shipped from China, and passed through

Korea and Japan before reaching Alaska and I was wondering how Lenovo could afford to ship

an individual package from China to US and still be competitive.

The laptop arrived and we opened and installed it. An irritating setup feature was the

numerous preloaded advertisements in the laptop asking you to subscribe to some service or

the other. It was like doing an online survery.

I liked the face recognition feature. The laptop was solid enough, a little heavy and bulky

but I had known that. After 2 days my daughter reported that the laptop was not shutting

down. When you try to shut it down, it goes to the One Key Rescue Screen. When you try to

exit the One Key Rescue, it gives you two options - either you can reboot or shutdown. If

you choose Reboot it would restart again. If you choose Shutdown, it would go off and

restart again and go back to the One Key Rescue screen. You are stuck in an infinite loop.

I called Technical Support and the nightmare started. I had to hold for more than 30

minutes to speak to a Technical Support person. I explained the problem to her. After a

pause and some background conversation she again asked me to repeat the problem. Again she

went off and there was some background converation. I could hear a male voice and some

giggling in the background. She came on again and asked me repeat the problem. By this

time I was mad and told her that I had repeated it twice before and was she not taking

notes? I repeated the problem and she was attentive this time.

She put me through all the steps of getting the order number, serial number and trying to

troubleshoot the problem like taking out the battery and reinstalling it and so on but no

avail. Then she gave me a case number (Case # wn147498) and told me to call Sales and give

the case number and they will help me. I told her that if I called again I would have to

hold for another 30 minutes, but she said that she cannot transfer me and I would have to

call the 800 number again.

So the next day I called the number again and after a hold of 40 minutes I got Sales. I

gave them the case number and the customer support person said that she wanted the Order

number and not the case number (which was in contradiction to what Tech support said). I

told that I had called tech support and I had a case number but she was adamant that she

wanted the order number. I told her to hold on so that I could get the order number from

the box, and she disconnected the call. By then I was again mad.

I called again next day and choose the option for Returns thinking that it could be easier.

A recorded voice said that since they had 'unexpected high call volumes' the hold would be

more than 30 minutes and the call was disconnected. I persisted and called again this time

choosing the 'Sales'option. This time there was no recorded message. It was clear that

they wanted to discourage returns and only wanted to talk to people who were trying to buy.

After a hold of over 40 minutes I got a customer support person. I explained the problem to

him. He went through all the normal routine of how sorry he was that I had this problem and

asked me to hold on. He conferenced in a technical support person who seemed to be Chinese,

from the accent. I again explained my problem to this person and he asked me if I had done

the steps of taking out the battery, etc and I said yes. Then he announced that I would

have to return the laptop and Lenovo will replace it. I asked him if I had the option of

returning it for a refund and he said no. The only option was replacement.

I was fuming again by this time and asked him why refund was not an option. He just

repeated that I could not get a refund. This made up my mind. Till now, although I had a

rough time with their customer service, I was willing to give Lenovo the benefit of doubt

and had only wanted a replacement. When the technical support guy said that refund was not

an option, then I decided that I dont want a replacement and wanted no association with this

company.

When the customer support person detected that I was getting angry he broke in and told the

technical support guy to can it and told him that he will handle it. Then the customer

support guy told me that I could return it and get a refund if I wanted it. I said yes and

he gave me a RMA number. He also sent me an email providing the details. I think this

person repaired some of the damage his company's reputation had suffered in my eyes.

After that it was smooth. I sent the laptop back, they gave me the refund. I was half

afraid that they would find some excuse not to refund the amount fully but it did not

happen.

I bought a Dell the next day.

I purchased this computer for my son for Christmas. I was a bit apprehensive to buy a touch screen for him, but I went for it. I don't regret my decision. This computer is very compact, but powerful. I considered buying the MSI computer but was not available. The only thing I miss is the CD/DVD drive that MSI does has. I was able to calibrate the touch screen without any problems. Its comes with Windows XP and ASUS quick reference program, that is worth it.I am going to upgrade this computer buying the external CD/DVD drive that is offer here at Amazon. I don't have any complains yet, I am very happy with my purchase and my son loves it.

I went with this case because I was breaking clips off the detachable types. This has a trraditional belt clip that will "hang" on a belt or pocket. It is a snug fit with my thin plastic cover installed on the Treo 700p. I wrapped the treo in shrink wrap an forced it in to stretch out the case a bit for easier removal, worked fine. Stays on while running, but has come off in the car when sitting down. Cover flap clasp is magnetic with a center hole/pin, not an easy closure every time, but is fine once I stretched it out. Keep in mind, I have the thin (1.25MM)plastic case on the Palm as well, without that case the fit is fine. Best I've tried, Its a keeper!!

"Touchscreen is great; beware of noisy fan" 2010-03-04

If you are a fan of touchscreen devices, this computer fits the bill. The touchscreen is responsive, easy to use, and makes computing that much enjoyable. Because the screen is small, however, you will sometimes need to use the mouse pad in order to be efficient. So the end result is a combo touch / mouse functionality. I found that reaching up to use the touchscreen is sometimes tiresome, simply because you have to raise your whole arm up to do so, rather than being able to rest your hands on a surface. But I wouldn't go back ever again to a traditional laptop.

Having said that, beware of the noisy fan. It is constant, loud, and a real annoyance. It is hard to picture how such a small laptop will have such a noisy fan. But it does - It is even louder than an old beater desktop. Louder than a refridgerator. I kid you not. It is louder than the big Apple G4s that were dubbed "wind turbine". It really sounds like a jet airplane. Again, I kid you not. You will not be able to use this computer in a quiet environment.

I've had this computer for 6 months now, and love the touchscreen features; but the fan noise, plus the incredible heat the computer gives off makes me want to throw it against a wall sometimes. The computer gets so hot it will burn you if you have it anywhere near your body. It even burns through jeans.

So for the touchscreen features, I give it a 5 out of 5. But because of the fan noise and the heat, I give it a big fat zero. So if you average this out, I would give this computer a 2.5 out of 5.

This computer is really the only choice if you need performance in a tablet/touch form-factor. The HP multi-touch software doesn't add much to it, however (I have been running it with Windows 7 and no manufacturer software) and it will be a while before there are meaningful mult-touch applications available (I use it myself for designing/prototyping future apps). My only complaint is that I borrowed this exact model from a coworker and have been using it while I wait for mine to arrive. When mine came, I found it has a very grainy, almost unviewable screen. I never selected an option for shiny/matte, so this is particularly frustrating. I understand why they would have changed it (as the shiny version attracts lots of greasy smudging), but after using both I much prefer the shiny screen to the new grainy one (the smudging was no where near as bad as the grainy film on the new one -- and I can always clean it if it bothers me).

This is a really nice well made case. The bad is there are no openings for charging or the headset so you have to remove the device almost completely to charge or listen to music thereby risking damage to the unit. I am going to try to locate a leather punch which should solve the problem. I just can't believe that Prima would design such a nice case but then leave out such an important aspect in design. I may call them and maybe they can fix this flaw in their next shipments. It is a nice well made case and if you are willing to either live with the problem or fix it yourself you will have a nice case. One other strange thing they did is offer the red case with a clip but no clip for the black which I have. I never use a clip myself but I am mentioning this as it could be a problem for some of you.

"Nice product" 2010-03-31

I have been using this for some time (~6 months). I bought this after I joined to school to do homework. I mainly use this with Math Input Panel that comes with Win7. Here is what I finding about this product

Pros:

- Cheap alternative to tablet

- Works reasonably well

- No broken line ever

- Easy setup, just install software comes with this and follow initial 1-2 steps

- Might be needed to re-calibrate the pen but only after a long time

Cons:

- Pen needs 3 small battery. Battery discharges pretty quick (few weeks may be a month or so). Battery is expensive in general store. But I got 100 such battery in ~10$ from Amazon :-). One tip here to save battery is to keep open the batteries when you are not using this.

- While it works well for my purpose (like writing Math formula and some hand writing recognition software that comes with Win7), accuracy is not 100% (may be 98%) specially near the edge of the screen. So if you application needs very precise accuracy this is not the one.

- Not pressure sensitive, just one pressure mode. I don't need that but others might.

- Does not work very well if I rotate the screen resolution (instead of 1440x768, if screen is configured vertically to have 768x1440) in my laptop, but this may be Win7 issue rather than this product

Finally, I don't regret buying this. I really like this product. If I compare price difference of a decent laptop Vs. same configuration tablets, this is way cheaper option (only if I could make my laptop totally flat like tablet :-) )

I am A graphics enthusiast. I spend a lot of time with photoshop, Maya, Zbrush ect.

It is really cool to draw directly on the screen. and the device works reasonably well until you get near the corners of the screen (2-3 inches)

I ordered the desk top model but the company sent me the Laptop model.

the only difference I can tell between the two is the laptop model has a much shorter USB cord. I rectified this with a USB extension and it worked fine.

the pen runs on 3 tiny batteries (the same type used in hearing aides) the batteries do not last very long and are EXPENSIVE to replace. (roughly $1.25 U.S.D. EACH!)

also the pen does not support pressure sensitivity, and is worthless for 3D games like Halo or Left for dead (the camera spins uncontrollably)

the pen excels in photo shop for drawing freehand selections but has a bug in the software that makes the brush size you are working with invisible.

I built a desk that let me mount my bulky CRT monitor below the surface of the desk and tilt the screen @ 15 degrees witch really improved the comfort of using the device.

I still reach for my Wacom tablet more often than the duo pen, but despite all of the draw backs I don't regret the purchase.....just make sure you actually have a use for this product or get a Wacom instead.

The DUO Digital Pen Mouse needs more work on calibration for the corners of the screen. When the pen moves towards any corner of the screen the cursor will move away from the pen. In addition, how you hold the pen is important based on how the pen was held during calibration. The pen could also be thinner, since it is a little bulky in size.

This device does even more than i initially thought. Simple USB plug in, easy setup, the handwriting is flawless...never a broken link in the lines or anything! Excellent hardware and comes in really nice packaging.

You have to recalibrate once in awhile to keep the tip accurate with the pointer on screen, but it only takes like 10 seconds. I use this mostly with Word, Photoshop, and Powerpoint. Highly recommended!

i am a college student in a dorm room and this is perfect for me. i do not need any fancy touchscreen and i really didn't need a 20inch screen but that was just a bonus. i think this is an excellent computer i can hook it up to my Xbox via HDMI and play video games on it while i watch TV on my regular TV.And also i don't even need to turn on my computer to play the Xbox because once the HDMI is plugged in whenever you turn your Xbox on the computer just switches to HDMI input and when i turn the Xbox off the computer is still off ( just thought it would be cool to bring that up). And it also has wireless capabilities! The only thing though was the windows 7 upgrade it took long to come in the mail they could of just gave us a code to download it online the day of the purchase but i had to wait over 3 weeks for the windows 7 CD However This was an affordable piece of equipment i love it its just for me.

I just received this computer for office use, plugged it in, and was looking forward to getting it up and running for my business partner. Instead, I realized that it came with Vista installed (ugh) and that it was password protected. I've tried using "password," I've tried resetting the password, all to no avail. It is brand new (supposedly anyway, but who put this password on here?) and there is nothing I can do to get into the computer. Seriously frustrating.

So I managed to find their customer support number (no easy feat) and immediately reached out to Asus. Well, I was hung up on the first time I called. I am right now on hold after having been transferred to 3 different departments. Yes, 3 different departments. It's been 58 minutes at this point. I read earlier reports about horrific customer services but breezed by that assuming I'd rarely if ever need to call. But when you've lost almost an hour of productivity because of a lousy product... it certainly changes things.

Also, the keyboard is really really really small. It's about a foot wide and there is no number pad on the right.

Did I mention it came with Vista installed? In January of 2010?

I have literally been on hold for an hour now. Sigh. Perhaps I just need to call Amazon and get something else. If you haven't purchased this yet I'd recommend that you do not.

(Update: I have now been on hold for 1 hour and 21 minutes. I kid you not.)

I purchased the ET2002 in early October because the machine fit my needs and came with a free Windows 7 upgrade. After receiving the machine, I attempted to register for my Windows 7 upgrade on the Asus Website. During the registration, the serial number for my ET2002 could not be verified by Asus. So, I filled out a supplemental for the verify the serial number. After a week, no response from Asus. I then called their Windows 7 support number....no answer. I finally spoke to an Asus support person, and they said someone would call me back later that day...nope, didn't happen. When I finally spoke to an Asus "Eee-family" support person, they said I would get resolution within 24-48 hours...nope, wrong again.

It has been 3 weeks since purchasing the ET2002 and Asus still has not verified my PC's serial number. I have just received an RMA from Amazon.com and the PC is being returned for a full refund. Sorry, Asus...you're not ready.

Update 10/29: Thank you Amazon for the QUICK RMA on this purchase!

"Solid All-In-One at a reasonable price" 2009-10-07

I was pleasantly surprised by this unit. The monitor/computer unit is well put together and feels very solid. The wireless keyboard and mouse worked out of the box and makes the unit very easy to move around.

While I was initially concerned about how well the ATOM process would handle HD movies, it actually did a pretty good job. Lag was minimal, and even watching things like youtube and hulu wasn't too bad. The integrated speakers sounded good and provided a nice surround sound effect.

This is a great unit for people who want the simplicity of an all-in-one but not the high price tag normally associated with it. The monitor's big enough, the sound's integrated, the desktop foot print is small and both the keyboard and mouse is wireless. The only wire you really need to worry about is the power cord. I can totally see buying one of these for non-tech savvy folks like my parents.

Although notebooks are more portable, and desktops are more powerful, this unit is a great compromise.

After buying several cases for my iPhone, I found this one more option at Amazon. At the beginning I thought that the design was good, but when I received the case, simply the stuff did not meet the basic expectations. Do not get me wrong. The skin is high quality, some features like the locking button at the bottom is an improvement over the best case I've tried (The one called the dockable from Sena). The implementation of the design is so poor that the holes in the case do not correspond to the ones on the phone. The end result, you can not use the headphones, you can not plug it to be charged, the phone shoots off because the pressure is so strong on the power on button that it just can not resist. I will have to mirror the comments of other people here and on other sites: The motherboards on these are inferior, last 12 to 14 months, and HP will not stand behind their mistakes. You will eat it. After a year you will be left with a quite expensive paperweight. Unless, of course, you pay 600 bucks to have it repaired, only to fail in another year. HP has lost a lot of customers over this piece of junk. BTW, I did not purchase mine from Amazon, but that doesn't matter. The retailers are not at fault. It's HP.

Like hundreds of others my hp tx2000 computer failed after 14 months of use. The problem -- the machine overheats causing a failure in the Nvidia chip. The computer will not boot even though several indicator lights flash. HP knows of the problem but refuses to acknowledge it as a manufacture's defect. It's only solution is to replace the motherboard for nearly $400.00. You will find a wealth of similar consumer complaints on the net.

Do not buy this computer.

I use to be an HP evangelist, it was the only PC I bought. After the frustration I have had with the TX2000 I will never buy another. This is especially true after reading the problem so many others have had. There is even a pedition with over 1,400 signatures: [...]. After awhile, the power comes on but all you get is a blank screen. Even when it was running it was terribly slow.

This is actually a nice tablet. The build quality is good and the features are impressive, but after using it I realized my much older notebook performs better.

I got this to be a car pc, after shopping around I decided the HP was the best tablet to get. The touch screen is good and allows for finger manipulation. But the processor sucks, the battery life stinks, and multitasking is so so. Trying to justify the cost when I already have a 2.5 year old 14" notebook the out performs it is hard.

So if you need a tablet, and don't have a computer of any kind then sure buy it, other than that it's a waste of money. HP should have used a better processor and chipset. It would have made this a must have.
